From 28th to 30th November, Termosalud attended Expocosmética Bilbao 2015, Euskadi reference beauty and cosmetics tradeshow, with the collaboration of Exponor tradeshow, organiser of Expocosmética in Portugal, the biggest and most prestigious beauty tradeshow in the Iberian Peninsula, that takes places in Oporto.

Throughout last year Termosalud received support from various institutions to help develop its strategic plan. The programmes for which it received financing and the corresponding projects are detailed below:

A cheque from the Economic Development Agency of the Principality of Asturias (IDEPA) for Technological Innovation 2013 (co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund - ERDF),for the development of the project "the manufacture of prototype casings using additive manufacturing".

Innova-IDEPA 2013 (co-financed by the ERDF), for the development of the project "certification of the manufacturing system under Standard ISO 13485:2003 for medical devices".

International Promotion of the Companies of the Principality of Asturias 2013 from the IDEPA (co-financed by the ERDF), for the development of the annual international expansion plan.

Support for the innovation of SMEs (InnoEmpresa) from the IDEPA (co-financed by the ERDF), for the development of the projects "design and development of later technology equipment and anti-blemish dermocosmetics" and "comprehensive project of productive optimisation and technological renovation of beauty equipment production lines".

VMAT BASIC is a painless non-invasive treatment used to reduce cellulite on the abdomen, arms, thighs and buttocks. The equipment designed by Termosalud uses acoustic shock waves, a highly effective method that can be used to treat all types of cellulite (grade I, II and III).

When cellulite reaches an advanced stage, it produces a high concentration of proteins, which causes fibrosis and alters the properties of the tissue.

What do acoustic shock waves do to tissues during the treatment?

 

  • Neovascularisation: the application of this therapy creates capillary micro-ruptures in the zone, which stimulates the growth and remodelling of new arterioles. The new blood vessels improve the blood flow and oxygenation.
  • Collagen stimulation: Vmat Basic manages to accelerate the synthesis of collagen, a protein that is essential for tissue repair.
  • Selective increase in the permeability of the cell membrane: acoustic shock waves are applied to the tissue to stimulate the cells. This then increases the permeability of the cell membrane and releases the free fatty acids and glycerol from the cells. The acoustic shock waves improve the tissue metabolism and boost the delivery of catabolic products to the liver to be used as energy.

Cellulite treatment

Various clinical observation studies have assessed the effects of acoustic waves in the field of dermatology, concluding that it is a highly effective and long-lasting method for the treatment of cellulite.

The measurements of the elasticity values of the skin confirm significant improvements during the course of acoustic wave therapy:

After three months, the elasticity of the skin improves by up to 105%

We must point out that using chemical products to care for the skin, like creams, lotions, etc. only manages to improve the elasticity if the skin by between 12% and 25%. On a dermatological level, an improvement in the elasticity of the skin of more than 40% can be considered an exceptional result.
